PORTFOLIO

Sculptural building for playground, Incheon (South Korea)

Category: architecture, public domain

Year: 2010
Material: granite
Dimensions: 220(H) x 400 x 610cm
Commissioner: City of Incheon, South-Korea
Location: Incheon, South-Korea

What tickles the imagination of children? The commissioner in this case, asked for a sculpture that could please the art minded viewer as well as interact with children. I decided to make a sculptural environment stripped from color and reduce the form language to cubes and round shapes. Children already possess an untainted imagination that gives them the freedom to look beyond what they see and give the object new meaning.
